Tank Measurement Project Standardization
Owned the full project lifecycle, from capital planning through commissioning and post-startup support. Manual tank measurement created consistency and safety concerns.
APOLLO AUTOMATIONJAMES WARREN · ENGINEERING & PROJECT LEADERSHIPCASE-119 · Engineering case
Improved tank-level measurement consistency and reduced exposure associated with manual measurement.

Improve tank-level measurement consistency and reduce safety exposure associated with manual measurement.
Engineering scope: Tank level measurement instrumentation, pressure-based measurement devices, field installation coordination.
Recorded improved measurement consistency and reduced manual-measurement safety exposure. The record distinguishes the primary measurement work from related project-family activities.

Full lifecycle project ownership
Owned the full project lifecycle: capital planning and prioritization, need definition, feasibility and scope development, engineering and AFE justification, procurement and vendor coordination, construction sequencing and field oversight, commissioning, turnover, and post-startup support. Connected operating requirements with technical scope, funding decisions, execution readiness, and the needs of operations and maintenance.
The plan specifies twelve pressure units reporting to a centralized PLC: 20% Shipping Tank; 20K Raw Tanks 1-4; Shipping Tanks 1-3; 12% Shipping Tank; and 40K Raw Tanks 1-3.
Coordinated the instrumentation scope, installation requirements and contractor interfaces for 12 pressure-measurement units. Measurement standardization connected procurement decisions with safer access, reliable readings and a consistent operating basis.
