Why the Work Mattered

Purpose and Operating Need

Project scope and individual work packages are presented separately; project totals are not additive to their component values.

Engineering Approach

Engineering Approach

Engineered phased 480/277V secondary service modernization designed for 2000A ultimate capacity. Defined Phase 1 installation of 1000A underground conduits and feeder conductors for new service, a NEMA 3R switchboard with SPD sized or expandable for a future 2000A upgrade, housekeeping pad, transformer pad and meter enclosure provisions, concrete sawcut and trench restoration, underground utility locates, and service grounding triad. Developed RFQ scope partitioning for secondary service and DP-PKG subpanel and feeder distribution. Aligned electrical utility pole placement and under-street bore timing with site enhancements to avoid future demolition through new concrete, curbing, and landscaping.

Outcome & Engineering Context

Outcome and Context

Developed underground-conduit and service-upgrade designs to support the 2040 demand forecast.

Workstream Results & Impact

Prepared power distribution for growth through underground conduit banks, service modernization and long-range load planning aligned with 2040 demand forecasts.

Reduced outage exposure during expansion by separating critical loads and modernizing switchgear.

Defined utility rough-in, pole and under-street bore interfaces, feeder termination requirements, transformer and switchgear pad provisions, subpanels and distribution feeders as a coordinated installation sequence.
