Why the Work Mattered

Purpose and Operating Need

The project was not only about installing power for Line 2; it required deciding what to build now versus defer later so Phase 1 would not create expensive Phase 2 rework.

Engineering Approach

Engineering Approach

Comparison scope: 1000A-only installation, full 2000A build, and blended future-ready scope; separated secondary service from DP-PKG feeder; evaluated conduit banks, feeder conductors, 2000A-rated MSB, housekeeping pad, transformer pad, electrical utility meter raceway, grounding triad, pull boxes, mechanical lugs, spare conduit, panel schedules, one-lines, arc flash / coordination, meg-ohm testing, torque logs, and Phase 2-ready labels.

Outcome & Engineering Context

Outcome and Context

Established a phased electrical-capacity and procurement strategy designed to preserve future expansion access and reduce later rework.

Engineering scope and design basis

Developed the phased electrical strategy to reduce future trenching, concrete demolition, outage exposure, utility rework, and long-lead equipment risk.

Compared 1000A-only installation, full 2000A build, and blended future-ready scope; separated secondary service from DP-PKG feeder; evaluated conduit banks, feeder conductors, 2000A-rated MSB, housekeeping pad, transformer pad, electrical utility meter raceway, grounding triad, pull boxes, mechanical lugs, spare conduit, panel schedules, one-lines, arc flash / coordination, meg-ohm testing, torque logs, and Phase 2-ready labels.

Improved electrical expansion readiness, measured by a 1000A Phase 1 service designed for future 2000A expansion, 2000A-rated switchgear strategy, oversized conduit paths, DP-PKG feeder planning, and electrical utility-aligned transformer / meter coordination, by separating near-term conductor cost from long-term civil and switchgear readiness.

1000A Phase 1; future 2000A expansion; 480/277V; DP-PKG subpanel; MSB-CH; 4000 psi trench pour-back; service grounding triad; electrical utility pole / transformer / meter coordination.
