Why the Work Mattered

Purpose and Operating Need

Breaking the quote into functional work packages made it easier to defend what supported current Line 2 execution versus what preserved future expansion capacity.

Engineering Approach

Engineering Approach

Defined the secondary service, DP-PKG feeder, engineering documentation and permit-coordination packages, including 2000A-ready conduit, switchboard strategy, pads, electrical utility meter raceway, 4000 psi pour-back, grounding triad, feeder documentation, and labeling.

Outcome & Engineering Context

Outcome and Context

Improved electrical quote traceability and AFE packaging.

Workstream Portfolio Rollup

15,255,000 USD

Electrical Infrastructure Modernization

Portfolio value: 5,555,000 USD existing workstream scope plus 9,700,000 USD for the electrical service and power-quality project, counted once. Actual cost and estimate at completion are separate project measures.

Engineering scope and design basis

Improved cost transparency and scope separability while retaining 2000A-ready design provisions for future phases.

Improved electrical cost traceability, measured by separate quotation sections for secondary service, DP-PKG feeder, engineering, GC permit coordination, and the combined scope, by separating service, feeder, engineering, and GC coordination into quote sections.

Roles & contributions
  • Project Ownership

    Full lifecycle project ownership

Owned the full project lifecycle: capital planning and prioritization, need definition, feasibility and scope development, engineering and AFE justification, procurement and vendor coordination, construction sequencing and field oversight, commissioning, turnover, and post-startup support. Connected operating requirements with technical scope, funding decisions, execution readiness, and the needs of operations and maintenance.

Project ownership and delivery context

Owned the full project lifecycle: capital planning and prioritization, need definition, feasibility and scope development, engineering and AFE justification, procurement and vendor coordination, construction sequencing and field oversight, commissioning, turnover, and post-startup support. Connected operating requirements with technical scope, funding decisions, execution readiness, and the needs of operations and maintenance.

Developed the 480/277 V distribution strategy, including 1,000 A infrastructure and readiness for 2,000 A service. Conduit banks, pull boxes, grounding and transformer and switchgear pads were coordinated with site-development work. RFQs, bid comparisons and long-range load planning connected the physical design with funding and construction sequence.
