Boiler System + Plant Steam & Condensate Optimization
Owned the full project lifecycle, from capital planning through commissioning and post-startup support. Steam capacity alone did not determine process performance.
APOLLO AUTOMATIONJAMES WARREN · ENGINEERING & PROJECT LEADERSHIPCASE-070 · Engineering case
Coordinated boiler-room electrical distribution, burner management, feedwater controls, blower VFD control, instrumentation, and commissioning documentation.

The boiler upgrade required building electrical support and process-control coordination, not just a boiler replacement.
Design scope: electrical lighting and utility needs for the 22 ft x 28 ft x 20 ft CMU boiler room, branch circuit sizing, 250A 230V and 125A 120V feeders from primary switchgear to new panelboards, LMV51 burner management coordination, FDW system control panel, blower motor with VFD, I/O checkout, BMS commissioning, instrumentation calibration, P&IDs, PFD, instrument list, control narrative, electrical power plan, and 3D room scan.
Improved boiler electrical / controls readiness and commissioning defensibility.

Full lifecycle project ownership
Owned the full project lifecycle: capital planning and prioritization, need definition, feasibility and scope development, engineering and AFE justification, procurement and vendor coordination, construction sequencing and field oversight, commissioning, turnover, and post-startup support. Connected operating requirements with technical scope, funding decisions, execution readiness, and the needs of operations and maintenance.

Connected operating requirements with technical scope, funding decisions, execution readiness, and the needs of operations and maintenance.
Coordinated boiler-room equipment, electrical and controls interfaces with steam-manifold and pressure-reduction improvements. Condensate recovery, control checkout and operating readiness were part of the same system scope. The work increased available steam capacity by about 25 percent and stabilized jacket pressure.
