The Operating Context

Operating Context

Product carried to wastewater represented both a recovery opportunity and an environmental load. Centrifuge performance therefore needed to be evaluated alongside membrane protection and the wastewater interface.

Aligned skid utilities, electrical supply and process connections, and coordinated supplier startup and operator training. The resulting recovery of approximately 104,000 gallons per year connected separation engineering with usable product yield and reduced loss to the wastewater stream.

Purpose & Engineering Scope

Purpose and Scope

Business Purpose

Recovered 104K gallons per year of vinegar previously lost to the wastewater stream, at an estimated value of $37,607 per year.

Technical Scope

centrifuge skid coordination, membrane protection, wastewater compliance drivers (BOD and total waste), vendor startup and operator training

Process Filtration and Clarification

Separation work connected centrifuges, ceramic filtration, ion-exchange testing, sanitary flow paths and CIP. Evaluated capacity, product quality, cleaning, consumables and recovery, then coordinated utilities, controls, supplier interfaces and operator requirements. The system perspective linked separation performance with downstream production and wastewater effects.

Applied Activities

Wastewater, Recovery and Environmental Systems

Process-side separation and recovery reduced product loss and the load reaching wastewater. Environmental work also included runoff and sediment control, vapor exposure mitigation and acetator emissions capture. Connected these requirements with production continuity, equipment interfaces and maintainable safeguards.
