Centrifuge Filtration Recovery and Equipment-Relocation Evaluation

Owned the full lifecycle of this project, connecting capital planning, engineering, delivery and operating readiness. Longer filtration cycles after process changes constrained the production day. Restoring throughput required attention to feed conditions, separation equipment, filter-aid demand and scheduling together.

The Operating Context

Operating Context

Longer filtration cycles after process changes constrained the production day. Restoring throughput required attention to feed conditions, separation equipment, filter-aid demand and scheduling together.

Investigated the change in daily filtration duration, evaluated centrifuge use and equipment relocation, and aligned the scope with operating constraints. Comparing approximately ten-hour filtration days with the four-hour performance objective made the capacity problem concrete and supported an informed equipment decision.

Purpose & Engineering Scope

Purpose and Scope

Business Purpose

Restore filtration throughput targets by reducing daily filtration from post-change durations of ten hours toward pre-change performance of roughly four hours per day.

The Work & Its Outcomes

Work and Outcomes

Engineering Approach

  • Investigated filtration duration after process changes.
  • Aligned centrifuge use, filter-aid costs and production scheduling.
  • Coordinated equipment-relocation and operating constraints.

Results, Targets & Design Context

  • Reduced filtration time from about ten to seven hours per day's production in the wine-centrifugation trial; evaluated downstream vinegar centrifugation to restore the former four-hour rate.
  • The earlier filtration baseline was about four hours per day's production. The bentonite-treatment alternative required 49 elapsed process hours per day's production; that duration did not represent manned labor hours.

Technical scope and recorded applications

Process Filtration and Clarification

Separation work connected centrifuges, ceramic filtration, ion-exchange testing, sanitary flow paths and CIP. Evaluated capacity, product quality, cleaning, consumables and recovery, then coordinated utilities, controls, supplier interfaces and operator requirements. The system perspective linked separation performance with downstream production and wastewater effects.
