Lines 1 & 2 Bottling and Packaging Lines

Owned the full lifecycle of this project, connecting capital planning, engineering, delivery and operating readiness. Packaging capacity depended on a chain of connected operations: filling, labeling, case handling, palletizing, wrapping and shipping. Utility capacity, sanitary drainage and warehouse flow had to support that chain without creating a new constraint downstream.

The Operating Context

Operating Context

Packaging capacity depended on a chain of connected operations: filling, labeling, case handling, palletizing, wrapping and shipping. Utility capacity, sanitary drainage and warehouse flow had to support that chain without creating a new constraint downstream.

Developed the line scope around equipment, pasteurization, utility and electrical interfaces. Used takt, FIFO, OEE and labor modeling to connect equipment choices with production demand, while construction sequencing, safety circuits and startup planning tied the design to live-plant execution.

Purpose & Engineering Scope

Purpose and Scope

Business Purpose

Scoped to deliver 225-550 BPM capacity for large-format SKUs with coordinated utilities and controls.

Technical Scope

Bottling & Packaging Systems, Electrical Power Distribution, Safety Circuit Design

The Work & Its Outcomes

Work and Outcomes

Engineering Approach

  • Scoped filling through palletizing and wrapping, with coordinated packaging equipment.
  • Developed utility, pasteurization, sanitary-drainage, warehouse-flow and electrical interfaces.
  • Applied FIFO, takt, OEE, root-cause analysis, contractor coordination and startup experience to the line workstream.

Results, Targets & Design Context

  • The $5.3M primary-site scope used an approximately 225–550 BPM design-capacity range.
  • Planning models included 183 hours/year of changeover reduction, 5.5% OEE recovery and approximately $135,000 per year in modeled labor-cost reduction. These remain planning/model outputs.
  • The facility plan considered 11,500 sq ft of warehouse reuse and a projected 85 pallets/hour.
